The ground is littered with apples and there are only so many pies, crisps and jars of applesauce we have time to make so how to use all those extra apples? Press them into cider!
Saturday, October 14 local farmer Alan Baker will have his press at the Bennington Farmers Market from 10 a.m.till 1 p.m. Everyone is invited to bring apples as well as containers to hold freshly pressed cider. While at the market take time to enjoy the music of Alex Smith and shop vendor stalls packed with fall crops, local eggs and honey, maple syrup and fresh baked breads. pies, cookies and cakes.
Flaky crust, juicy apples and spicy cinnamon will rule the day when the Bennington Farmers’ Market hosts its seventh annual apple pie competition Saturday, October 7.
Bakers from throughout the area are invited to enter their best apple pie to be judged by local food professionals. All entries must be homemade and use local apples. Pies will be judged on the quality of the crust, the flavor of the filling and overall appearance. First, second and third place prizes will be awarded.

Tuesday markets began on June 6th from 3-6 and will continue through October 10th.

Help us kick off Dairy Month with a celebration! Dairy Day will feature Wilcox Dairy Ice Cream, which will be for sale for twenty-five cents per scoop. Inaugural Macaroni and Cheese Cook Off raises funds for Meals on Wheels
Nearly a dozen local cooks participated in a Macaroni and Cheese Cook Off hosted February 18 by the Bennington Farmers’ Market. The event raised more than $400 for Bennington County Meals on Wheels programs. Jezy Robert’s “Best Macaroni and Cheese”took first place honors while Mike Giannini’s “Four Cheese Fondue” grabbed the silver. Peter Hopkins placed third with his “Macaroni and Cheese with Braised Venison. Thank you to everyone who participated!
Opening day at the park is May 6th!
Beginning on May 6th the market will run every Saturday from 10-1 at the river walk at Bennington Station and will continue through October. We have exciting demos and events planned. Our membership drive begins this month. Get our new 2017 pint glass as a thank you.
