Who are you? Who is Saunders Family Farm?
Lisa Saunders runs Saunders Family Farm with the help of her family. Jerry, a friend of Lisa’s, helps feed all the animals and does a lot of running around to help the farm. Lisa’s son Quinn manages the crops and equipment maintenance and her daughter Sam helps out as well. It’s truly a family run farm!
Why did you go into farming? What inspires you to keep going on the long and hard days?
Lisa said farming has been part of her entire life. She grew up on a dairy farm in Hoosick Falls, New York. She fed calves and milked when she got older, as well as helped with haying. As a kid Lisa was very involved in 4-H and showed the cows at various fairs. Lisa said, “I live for the farm life. It has its ups and downs, but I would rather be involved with it than anything else.”
Of the many delicious products you sell, what’s your favorite?
Lisa’s favorite product is the chicken, but she said she also really enjoys the sausage they sell.
